Like scavengers after a kill...
Such is the state of the family after the parents' death.
Dad and I went to my grandmother's house to pick up the rest of my inheritance. Last week, we went to get my grandmother's jewelry box and her pearls that had once belonged to my great-grandmother. We thought my aunt was going to throw a fit since my grandmother had said that she was going to give them to her but since she never changed her will, I got them. We think my aunt tried to hide them but we asked for them and they mysteriously appeared. I've ended up with my grandmother's jewelry, her bookshelves and the books on them and her photo albums. Actually, nothing said that I would get the photo albums but since no one called dibs on them after the funeral, I claimed them by right of the fact that they were on my bookshelves.
But good grief, was my grandmother a pack rat. We hauled away half a dozen boxes of books and only two of them have anything I want *headdesk* Oh well, I better get to work sorting everything so I know what to get rid of, later.
