My plumbing has become possessed by tree roots! Our half-bathroom toilet started spewing very nasty water tonight and after almost an hour of trying to fix it ourselves, we called a very nice plumbing company that  kindly sent someone out after a nasty snowstorm and bad roads. After an hour of doing whatever the hell it is they do with the thing that goes through the line, he pulled out a ball of roots the size of my dad's head. So now we we have to have someone with a cameral come out to see how much we've got in the line.

Just venting.

Usually, I pet my cat since he usually sleeps on the end of my bed and when he senses me waking up, he goes to the head of the bed and meows for breakfast. Then I go to the bathroom,  I get dressed, go downstairs and feed the cat, check what's for dinner and then begin my day.

I love haunted houses, not the cheesy crap that only comes out at Halloween, real haunted houses. And one of my favorite shows is Ghost Adventures on the Travel Channel, only problem is that it's on at 9pm on Fridays, the same as SPN. So I've been watching SPN at 9 and catching the repeat of the new Ghost Adventures at 10 and it's been going fine. Except that I found out that on Dec 10, the night of SPN's pre-winter hiatus episode, GA is going to be at the Villisca Ax Murder house! For anyone who doesn't know about the Villisca Ax Murder House, it's a home in Villisca, Iowa where eight people, including six children, were bludgeoned to death in 1912 with an ax (obviously) and the killer was never caught. It's supposed to be very haunted and I've been borderline obsessed with this story for years and have been waiting for GA to go there for an investigation and they're doing it at the same time as SPN's big pre-hiatus episode!  I know that I can watch it again at 10 but dammit, couldn't they do this on the 17th and make it an early Christmas present?!

As most of you know, Thanksgiving is coming up in two weeks and it's going to be the first Thanksgiving without my grandparents. We usually spend Thanksgiving with my dad's family but it's starting to look like it'll be just my parents and me since no one seems to have any plans for Thanksgiving or their work schedule won't work. I'm not much of a people person but I was kind of hoping that we could spend Thanksgiving together. I guess we'll see.

I'm Democrat and very proud of it, but I listen to both sides before making a decision, but since the Republicans stand against the things I agree with, I vote the party line. If that makes sense.

It’s been decided. On October 20th, 2010, we will wear purple in honor of the 6 gay boys who committed suicide in recent weeks/months due to homophobic abuse in their homes at at their schools. Purple represents Spirit on the LGBTQ flag and that’s exactly what we’d like all of you to have with you: spirit. Please know that times will get better and that you will meet people who will love you and respect you for who you are, no matter your sexuality. Please wear purple on October 20th. Tell your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors and schools.

One year ago, my maternal grandmother died, then my paternal grandfather died on New Year's Eve, and now my grandfather's older brother died Thursday. *Sighs* I'm thinking that next year, I'm gonna find a nice hole to hide in for the week.

Hello, again! Greetings from Kentucky, The Bluegrass State! Home of Bluegrass music, bourban, coal mines and the Kentucky Derby! My parents and I are here during July 4th weekend walking through some cemetaries in Tennessee to see where some of my mom's family is buried and to see where she spent half of her childhood. It was fun! I got to see the town she lived in, the house where my ancestors lived, where my great-grandparents lived, where my grandparents' farm was and everything! It was very cool!

Currently we're back in our hotel room, complete with wi-fi! I was so excited to see that I would be able to surf the internet since our cable channel selection is limited at best. I also found out that I'm allergic to OFF! Bug Repellent, which sucks, but all in all, very cool weekend so far!

I has a cellphone! I've resisted getting one because I never thought I'd use it, but anymore, people expect you to have one. I didn't get the one I really wanted, I wanted a slider phone but the only pre-paid company that had one didn't include minutes. The one I have came with 300 minutes free. It's a cute little thing too.

AARGH!!

I'm trying very hard not to yell at my father. A few months ago, I bought a used bike from a lady who swore that someone short could ride it. Well, maybe she could but I couldn't and I decided to sell it. My dad stepped in and said that he'd buy it. He paid me $10 and promised the rest when he cashed the check from church (we clean my parents's church for extra money) Well, when I asked about it, he said that I'd have to wait until he cashed the check from church NEXT WEEK!!!!! *Growls* I want my fucking money!!!!!!! He owes it and I want it! I almost have the money I need to buy a new bike and I need that money!

As mentioned in a previous post, I bought a used bike and was forced to realize that I'd blown $60 on a bike that was too big for me. I put up an ad on craigslist but I haven't gotten a single nibble. Well today, my dad offered to buy the bike off me for what I paid for it because his doctor wants him to exercise more. Yay! I'm $60 closer to being able to buy a bike that fits!!

I'm incredibly nervous right now, a lady that attends my parents's church has asked me to teach her children how to play the piano. I studied piano for six years and still play, but the thought of teaching someone else makes me incredibly nervous. I haven't said yes, just that I would look into it but still. *bites nails*
paige_kate: (Oops)
I love haunted houses, especially historic haunted house and today, I was up in Irvington on the east side of Indy and found out that there are several haunted houses! Two are especially notorious and next week, I'm going to back and check them out!!

Well, we've finally found someone to buy my grandmother's house. It's an investor and we're only getting $35K but it's better than nothing and there will be money left over to split. It's funny how you don't get how bad the housing market still is until you try selling a house. The house has been on the market for almost six months and we haven't even gotten an offer or any real sign of interest and it was considered 'too nice' for most home buyers investment places, but we're finally getting someone to take it and hopefully he'll find someone who wants to rent it and it'll be a good home for someone.

Dear History Channel,

Cudos to you for America: The Story of Us. After fifteen years of hearing more about Hitler and the Nazis than I ever thought I would, it excites me to finally have a history of America. My problem is your portrayal of Paul Revere's midnight ride. Paul Revere NEVER said 'The British are coming!'. Why? Because Paul Revere WAS British! So were George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin and the rest of the colonists! They were BRITISH colonists! Paul Revere riding around shouting 'The British are coming!' is like someone running up Pennsylvania Avenue shouting 'The Americans are coming!' He would've said 'The Regulars are coming!' or 'The Redcoats are coming!' The whole 'The British are coming!' was invented by Washington Irving. Please be more careful about your research next time.

Sincerely

A big fan
