Well, we're back from the funeral, a lot of people showed up. It was freezing cold out but the service was nice, short and sweet, just like Grandpa would've wanted. The family did some inheritance scavenging since the house belongs to my uncle and aside from some pictures, he basically said to take whatever we wanted. I took two Virgin Mary statues that had belonged to my grandmother. All in all, we were gone about twelve hours and we're all tired and cold. Than you to everyone who sent condolences to my previous posts, they are greatly appreciated.

Well, it's been decided that we're going to have a viewing for Grandpa here in Indiana tomorrow (Saturday) since his siblings are here and most of them can't travel due to health reasons and Sunday we're going to Tennessee for a graveside service for the rest of his family. Mom and Dad are saying that we're going to try and make it a one day trip which means we'll be spending all of Sunday in a car. I'll let everyone know when we get home since I obviously won't have access to a computer then.

Well, my paternal grandfather's in the hospital in a drug induced coma and on a ventilator. He'd said at Christmas that he wasn't feeling well. Apparently, he passed out while watching my uncle bowling and then again in the bathroom. Mom and I have been here before with my grandmother and we know that his lungs are full of blood, which means that he could be dying and Mom told my uncle's girlfriend that. *sighs* I really don't want to think that this was my grandpa's last Christmas and I really don't want to start the new year in a funeral home. I guess we'll have to see.

Update 7:02pm: Well, Mom's talked to the uncle's girlfriend and it turns out that what happened with my grandmother is happening with my grandfather and the doctor's words were that if my grandfather had nine lives, he'd used them all . *sighs* We'll see how things go over the next few days but it doesn't look good.

My mom and I set up the Wii she bought for herself for Christmas and OMG, it was soo fun! We got the one with Wii Sports and we're both exhausted. We're going to set up the Wii Fit tomorrow.

Later.

Greetings from one of my Christmas presents, my laptop! We got it all set up today and I've been having fun playing with it. I love not being saddled to the desktop and being able to chill on my couch, surf the web and watch television. I've been going crazy finding wallpapers since I don't have to worry about freaking out my mother. I also got Taylor Swift's Fearless album and a pair of overalls.

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!

Apparently my mother is having an allergic reaction to something that was on her chicken club sandwich from Wendy's because she started breaking out in hives tonight as we were celebrating Christmas with her family. It got so bad, we had to leave early so she could take something with anti-histamine. We're hoping it dies down by tomorrow. I'm tired and don't really want to do all the cooking I'm going to have to do but since mom isn't feeling well, I don't have a choice.

Here's wishing every one a Merry Christmas, however it is said in your part of the planet. And if you don't celebrate Christmas: Happy Holidays!

Holiday movies I love:

1. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
2. A Charlie Brown Christmas
3. How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the orignal)
4. A Muppet Christmas Carol

Holiday movies I can't stand: Holiday romances *gags* Most versions of 'A Christmas Carol', 'The Santa Clause' movies.

I've come to the realization that I don't have the level of patience and geekiness to do my own layout. Is there anyone on my flist who knows how to do LJ layouts that would be willing to design one for me? I have banners and stuff, just not the patience or competance to do my own layout. You can PM me or email me at katelyamct@gmail.com

Please and Thank you in advance

Today's been a reasonably good day. Mom and I went to get my laptop (we bought it yesterday but the store was running behind in setting things up so we picked it up today). Mom was teasing me about drooling on the box the computer came in and about having to wait until Christmas before I got to play with it. She bought a Wii and a Wii Fit Plus for herself and is having to wait until Christmas before she can open it so we're both trying to contain ourselves until Christmas.

In other news, the Colts are 13-0 and they've broken New England's record of consecutive season wins (playoffs don't count)!!! We're tied with New Orleans for the season and I really hope both teams can keep it up so we can play against them in the Super Bowl.

Think that's all for now.

Oh Holy Mother of God, I just finished my Christmas shopping. I didn't do what I usually did which is go during the week when the malls aren't so crazy but Mom and I were going to pick up my laptop and I decided to just finish my shopping while I was there. I spent ten minutes trying to find a parking space and twenty minutes trying to get out. *Headdesk* Next year, I'm gonna stick to my regular plan and not go Christmas shopping on weekends. I think I'm gonna go pass out now.

First off: I HATE having allergies!!!!! I've had an attack of allergies since last week and it finally seems to be clearing up but it's fucking driving me crazy!!!

Secondly. To the manufacturer of the Encore Premium Revival System: Who the FUCK are you trying to fool?! What you're trying to sell is an over-priced penis pump that you can go to any self-respecting sex store in person or online and get for a hell of a lot cheaper than what you want!

I can't believe it's three weeks to Christmas and four weeks to 2010! Also: I don't have to play the piano at the church Christmas party!!! We usually have the party at the home of members who have a HUGE house and last year my mother volunteered me to play the piano this year but they've decided to have it at the church instead. *Dances* I hate playing in front of people so this lets me off the hook since we don't have musical instruments in our church.

That's all for now.

Or how I got most of my Christmas shopping done without losing my mind.

Despite having a cigarette induced sinus infection, I decided to go out and get a jump on my Christmas shopping. I went to Walmart and bought my mother a pair of new houseshoes and then I went on Amazon.com and went searching for some movies that my dad has really wanted and found ALL of them!!! I called my mother and she was excited so after dinner, Mom gave me her card and we bought all three of them and now, my Christmas shopping is half over, I just have to find some flannel sheets for my mom and it's done!! *Dances*

Okay, as of today, the Colts are 11-0, putting them one up on the New Orleans Saints until the Saints play the Patriots tomorrow and every time, the Colts always seem to come from behind and win. Today for instance, they (the Colts) were ten points behind the Houston Texans at half time and yet beat them by eight points 35-27. I think I know how they're doing it, they're channeling Muhammad Ali's 'Rope A Dope' strategy. For anyone who's never heard of this, lemme explain.

'Rope A Dope' means simply to let your opponent wear themselves out beating you up and then come back and knock them out and win. I swear that's what the Colts are doing with their opponents and it's working like a charm. Hopefully, they can keep channeling 'The Great One' long enough to go to the Super Bowl again.

I've got a question for anyone on my flist that has Windows 7: Do you like it? Is it any good? What should I know about it? Since it's official that Santa is going to bring me a laptop for Christmas, I'm pricing laptops and the Windows 7 thing is one I'm not familiar with.

Thanks in advance

Okay, Carnie Wilson had asked these three husbands which show more closely matched their wives' fantasies? Rescue Me, The L Word or Entourage? She repeated this question to the wives and one of the wives who was probably in her fifties or sixties said 'The L Word'! The whole audience went crazy but then she said 'What's The L Word?' *Falls over laughing* When she was told what The L Word was, she quickly changed her answer to 'Rescue Me' *Is still laughing* Jus thought I'd share.

I cannot believe I did this, I actually asked my dad for a laptop for Christmas! I was going  to ask for one last year but my dad lost his job and I decided that a tv would be a cheaper present. Well, then, my parents decided to buy new tvs and I got my dad's old one and I still chickened out on asking for a laptop. Well, today I found an ad for laptops at Sam's Club and decided to leave it on the table so my dad could see it. Well, he saw it and started leafing through it, asking what was in there. I told him that I'd left it open to what I was looking at and then he got it (my dad doesn't always get subtlety) Well, he looked at it and told me that he'd talk to Mom about it and told me that if that's what I wanted, my Christmas Wish List just got very short. That's okay though, there's not a lot I want for Christmas other than a laptop, Taylor Swift's Fearless Platinum Album and overalls but, I asked!!!!

One of the things I found on the bookshelves I inherited from my grandmother was a big stack of recipes, some from my great-grandmother and some my grandmother found. One of the things we found was a canning book from WWII! It was dated 1943 and had an add for war bonds and a notice that some of the jars and lids of the company publishing weren't available because of the war. We were so suprised. I have no idea how much its worth but it's in pretty good condition and you can still read it. Just thought I'd share.

A few months ago, I knitted a cotton wrap for my mother to wear at work and then I knitted her a pair of wool fingerless gloves. Well, apparently, the receptionist at the law firm Mom works at saw the wrap and now wants me to knit her some slippers. She's promised to buy the stuff for me so that's good but *Headdesk*
